There’s still more to do, but you’ve come so far and it’s time to keep going. It’s a great jungle-themed song and one of my favorites from any video game – What other song would make you want to get through sticker bushes?

2. Forest Maze – Super Mario RPG (SNES) REDDIT FAVORITE!

Why It’s Great: Can you listen to this song from Super Mario RPG without thinking of Geno? Forest Maze is a gem among gems in an iconic RPG soundtrack. It gets a lot of love from the Reddit community when it comes to favorite video game songs in the forest genre.

Why It’s Great: Hans Zimmer didn’t have to go so hard on the Spyro soundtrack! This song is relaxing and brings back memories of turning on the PlayStation during the summertime.

4. Brinstar Theme – Super Metroid (SNES)

Why It’s Great: Though it’s underground, Brinstar has mysterious forest music anyone who has played Super Metroid will remember, This video is a comical dance meme to accompany the original soundtrack – It’s sure to bring back memories of being on a mysterious space mission as Samus Aran.

Why It’s Great:This is the first song I think of when I think of Forest music (You should comment what your’s is!). I used to feel like I was IN the game and that I really was Link. I feel like this song may have helped set the stage for what makes a forest song a forest song when it comes to video game music.

6. Mystics/What The Forest Taught Me – Secret of Mana (SNES)

Why It’s Great:Composed by the highly-revered video game music composer Hiroki Kikuta, this song is something anyone who played Secret of Mana will remember. Exploring the woods with newfound friends and leveling up didn’t feel like a grind at all.

7. Eterna Forest – Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Music (Nintendo DS)

Why It’s Great: Pokemon has a few memorable forest/woods songs, but the music in Eterna Forest has such a pleasing combination of adventure, peace, calm, joy, and enchantment. It won this spot for sure.

8. Bomberman B Daman FOrest MUSIC OST (SNES)

Why It’s Great: Bomberman B Daman is a retro puzzle game released in 1996, but the music quality is crisp and clean. This is one of my favorite songs from any Bomberman soundtrack, and the click includes gameplay visuals if you’ve never seen this game before.

9. Kirby – Forest Stage Theme Song (Multiple Consoles)

Why It’s Great: The great part of the Forest Stage Theme Song is that the Kirby franchise has included variations of it in virtually all of the games in the franchise. Here’s a compilation that’s short, listenable, and has clean transitions of a variety of versions, from forest 8-bit vibes to beat-heavy synths:

10. Secret of the Forest: Chrono Trigger (SNES)

Why It’s Great: Secret of the Forest is an ambient song that perfectly embodies the feeling of uncertain adventures ahead. Described by YouTube user “Awoken777” as “one of the greatest songs in Gaming history,” this underrated forest song from Chrono Trigger surely deserves a place on this list.

Why It’s Great: This OST is composed by David Wise and restored to HD studio quality by Jammin’ Sam Miller. Though the Donkey Kong franchise is filled with jungle-themed music, this is one of the most iconic songs from the second game in the series.

13. Forest Haven – The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Nintendo Wii)

Why It’s Great: Wind Waker is a perfect Zelda game to find calming music with high-fidelity sound. Composers Kenta Nagata, Hajime Wakai, Tōru Minegishi, and Kōji Kondō wonderfully blend different instruments to create a unique jungle vibe. This song is a masterpiece, even among all the other great songs to come from the Zelda franchise.

Why It’s Great: Underrated ambient video game music, underrated game. I love using this to find related forest aesthetic music on YouTube!

15. Rainbow Butterfly Woods – Dark Cloud 2

Why It’s Great: This is the top orchestral forest song on this list, in my opinion. Composer Tomohito Nishiura encapsulated a certain kind of peace people can feel in nature. It almost feels like a lullaby, even though it comes from an action RPG!

16. Calm Before the Storm – Final Fantasy X (PlayStation)

Why It’s Great: This is the song from Kilika Forest and Macalania Woods. The consonance and dissonance in this song make a great match for the storyline. It’s also great for anyone who generally enjoys Final Fantasy music.

17. Forest of the Nopon (Night) – Xenoblade Chronicles

Why It’s Great: It was hard to choose my favorites out of the forest and woods music in the Xenoblade Chronicles soundtrack, but this is the song I think of when I step into Makna Forest. I love the subtle percussive from the bongos and how this song is like a lullaby version of Forest of the Nopon (Day version)

18. Forest Temple – The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64)

Why It’s Great: Composed by Koji Kondo, this song is a masterpiece of suspenseful video game music. Give it a play and you will feel like you are right back in the Forest Temple. Most people think of Saria’s Song or Kokiri Forest when they think forest-themed music in the Zelda series, but this song is so unique I couldn’t help but feature it. The progression of this song masterfully encapsulates how your journey as Link evolves after obtaining The Master Sword, and I think it’s one of the most underrated Zelda songs.

19. Forest of the Nopon (Day Song) – Xenoblade Chronicles

Why It’s Great: This is the daytime version and appropriately more calm and cheery. A perfect instrumental song when you want to embrace a good mood and a good day ahead! 20. Peaceful Forest – Ragnarok

Why It’s Great: This song plays in Payon Forest in Ragnarok Online, but thanks to YouTube, you can listen to it anywhere! The bongos in the intro of this song almost make you feel like you’re about to enter into an eerie jungle setting. But then the piano comes in with a peaceful, calming vibe. The song progresses with consonance and dissonance and makes me feel like I’m on the same adventure I was when I first played Ragnarok many many years ago.

21. The Forest of Hope – Pikmin (Nintendo)

Why It’s Great: This song feels like an electronic symphony in the forest. It plays early in the Pikmin game when you first set out on a budding adventure! This whimsical first song feels optimistic and is a great way to start your Pikmin adventure.

Composed by Kenji Yamamoto, this song recalls feelings of adventure, uncertainty, and eventual triumph. If you’re looking for high-energy jungle game music, this might be the song for you!

23. Lost Woods – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Why It’s Great: This song might be the People’s Choice for forest game music, and I love it, too. It is amazing to hear the song fade in and out while exploring the Lost Woods as Young Link. The song was an audio map! Even cooler was when you’d hear the echoes of this song through the Lost Woods shortcut in Goron City. It’s one of those things that makes you remember home – as if you really were from Kokiri Forest.

24. In The Deep Woods – Stardew Valley

Why It’s Great: Though this game was sort of built in public on Reddit, ConcernedApe created an immersive world where the characters, music, and scenery all felt cohesive. That’s no small feat for someone to do without a team! I love this song because you’ll get to feel at home in the forest, even if you didn’t choose the forest farm layout!

25. Owl Forest – Dark Cloud

Why It’s Great: Composted by Tomohito Nishiura, the flutes and clarinets truly make this song a top woodlands-themed video game song. The rhythm makes the perfect backing track for the 17-level forest dungeon. A true explorer theme song!
