Fastest Palworld Coal Spot & Best Way To Harvest A Lot Fast

Palworld coal is easy to find and harvest fast. Let’s look at the best coal base and minding locations on the Palworld map, recommended gear, and pal party set-up, and get to farming!

Best Coal MINING Locations in PalWorld

The fastest way to get coal on a mining trip is the coal location east of the Sealed Realm of the Guardian fast-travel. There are multiple nodes clustered and no wild pals or bad weather to worry about. 160, -68 are the map coordinates for this easy coal location.

The next best coal location in Palworld is slightly northwest of the Sand Dunes Entrance fast travel. It is so easy to get to and there are no wild pals to deal with. The coordinates are 265, 216. You will need a heat resistant accessory and/or armor here.

There are 2 other coal mining locations with multiple harvest nodes clustered together shown in the map below, indicated by pickaxe markers. These extra coal locations are helpful if you need to harvest coal faster than a single location can respawn, but take a bit more distance to get to from a fast-travel. Please note that the PDIF Tower Entrance does have some Tocotoco spawns! The coordinates are 437, 430 and 615, 306.

Best Coal BASE Locations

These recommended coal base locations have plenty of coal nodes and enough flat land to be suitable for a base (even if it’s temporary!).

These base spots are a bit far from a fast-travel location; use the first section of this Palworld coal guide if you’re looking to make fast trips to actively gather coal.

Best Coal and Metal Base All-In-One

My favorite choice for best coal mining base location is east of the Sealed Realm of the Guardian fast-travel.

This area is a large mountain top with plenty of metal and coal mining nodes. There are a few spots that are uneven, but the base is otherwise large and flat. With plentiful resources and protection from invasions, it’s a great all-in-one base for worker pals to passively harvest coal and metal for you. It’s the best base to start farming coal, metal, and refined ingots passively! The location is 190, -40, and there’s a coal node cluster nearby if you ever want to take quick coal mining trips!

Best Flat Map Location for Coal Base

The map location at -130, -155 is one of the best spots for a coal base. It’s a flatter valley area with multiple coal harvest nodes and metal rocks are easy to find. It’s located south of the Anubis spawn and northeast of the investigator’s fork fast-travel. There is a camp nearby with level 20 NPCs that can be useful for farming ammo and trapped pals, too. I recommend flying around this area as there are several great spots to drop a pal box and start your passive coal mining base!

The best pal party setup for coal farming trips will vary as you approach late-game and capture new pals. My recommendation for a great setup is any mining pet with level 3 mining or higher, a flying mount, and 3 pals with a carrying capacity buff.

  • One coal mining pal: Bring a pal with at least level 3 mining. Digtoise, Reptyro (or Ice Reptyro), Blazanut, Menasting and Anubis are all viable options. See the section below for more on each.
  • One flying travel mount: The mining locations closest to fast travel locations are located on some cliffy hill-sides. It’s most efficient to use a flyer. I recommend a Ragnahawk for its speed and agility.
  • Three pals with capacity buffs: Bring Cattivas or King Pacas (must have King Paca saddle made) for a passive weight-carrying buff. This will let you carry more coal per trip.

Cattivas are a great early-game pal that don’t require special equipment to active the passive weight-carrying increase! It’s worth bringing 3, along with your flyer and miner (Ragnahawk and Reptyro shown here). Swap Cattivas for Kingpacas when you have captured 3 and made the Kingpaca saddle!

Best Pals for Mining Coal

Below are 5 different pals that can harvest coal. The descriptions weigh the different pros and cons of the different coal mining pals.

Digtoise – If you have the Digtoise headband, you can launch a digtoise from your party at a coal rock and watch it spin away! A higher level Digtoise will destroy a coal rock very quickly. For passive base work, the damage a Digtoise deals is nerfed; though it will get the job done eventually, I recommend using one of the pals below to passively mine, if you have them.

Reptyro (Best overall)– Reptyros can efficiently mine coal passively and actively as part of your pal party and are easy to obtain mid-game. If you have a saddle, the Volcanic Burst attack can one-shot many coal rocks and also deal ancillary damage to surrounding coal nodes. Since Reptyro also has 3 kindling, it’s a great all-around pal for harvesting and refining metal.

Blazamut, Menasting, and Anubis – These three pals are other great mining options, but are hard pals to obtain early and mid-game. Blazamut has level 4 mining and 3 kindling, make it great for mining bases. Menasting and Anubis both have level 3 mining, with lumbering (menasting) and transport & handiwork (Anubis) making them great options for base multi-tasking.

Conclusion on PalWorld Coal Mining:

PalWorld coal is easy to get! Just decide whether you want to mine coal passively at a base or stock up through coal runs and plan your pals accordingly!
